A 60,000-acre mixed farm on the Liverpool Plains, Windy Station Woolshed was one of the first fine wool properties in Australia, being established in the 1830’s. At Windy Station, your students will learn about the different commodities being produced and have the opportunity to journey through a heritage-listed woolshed.
Located 30km from Quirindi, Windy Station will show your students through different agricultural enterprises, including cattle, canola, wheat, sunflowers and cotton. Visits at different times of the year will allow students to see activities such as harvest and cattle work.

  • Group size: Windy Station can host multiple groups of students in K-12. Overnight stays are also available for up to 22 visitors.
  • Visiting times: There is always something happening at Windy Station! Visit in summer or winter to see crops being harvested. If livestock is your students’ interest, there is more intensive cattle work in Nov-Dec and March-April.
  • Farm activities: Walking tour of heritage woolshed, observe calf/cattle work, watch harvest of crops, walking tour of different crops,
