A chemical-free urban farm with event waste management and horticulture services.
Green Connect is a social enterprise: a different kind of business. They employ former refugees and young people with barriers to employment to grow chemical-free vegetables, fruit, herbs, animals and honey on an 11-acre urban permaculture farm in Warrawong, just south of Wollongong. Green Connect also reduces waste from landfill through the Zero Waste arm of the business, which includes event waste management services and an op shop, and they provide horticulture services through a Backyard Gardens service. Green Connect provides supported employment to former refugees and young people experiencing employment barriers. They have recently developed an Education Hub and Children’s Garden which your students will have exclusive access to during their visit.

Farm Visit Information

  • Group size: Can host large groups (up to 80). Can host high school students. Tour groups will be capped at 20 students to ensure a hands-on and personal experience.
  • Visiting times: No matter the season, there is always something to see at the beautiful Green Connect farm.
  • Farm activities: Tour market gardens, food forests and rainforest regeneration sites. Learn how we work with nature to grow food without chemicals and in a way that helps, rather than harms, the land. Get hands on with some basic gardening techniques, and help feed animals including free-range pigs, goats, sheep and chickens. Explore the purpose-build children’s and demonstration gardens.
