Tomorrow is the beginning of National Science Week Tomorrow is the beginning of National Science Week! National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology, and the theme this year is Glass: more than meets the eye!

Running each year in August, National Science Week features more than 1000 events around Australia, including those delivered by universities, schools, research institutions, libraries, museums and science centres.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics released their The Australian Bureau of Statistics released their latest agricultural report 2 weeks ago - so we thought we'd highlight some key facts for you!
 
Thanks to the easing of the drought, NSW experienced pretty much ideal cropping conditions. This led to a huge increase in cropping production - just have a look at our pictures to see how much!
 
Even though the value of some livestock industries decreased, this is actually a sign of good conditions. Because producers had more feed on their farms, lots of them held onto their livestock instead of selling.
 
Overall, Australian agriculture was worth $71 billion in 2020-21, which was an increase of 17%. Did you know that agriculture was so important for Australia's economy? Pretty cool right?!

To celebrate we thought we would share some stats about the Kids to Farms program!

Since March 2021, Kids to Farms has connected XXXX students with agriculture in NSW.

🚍 1354 students have been on a Kids to Farms subsidised excursion

👨‍🌾👩🏼‍🌾 300 students have received a visit from our young farmers

💻 150 students took part in virtual farm visits during NSW lockdowns

We have also connected over 1200 students with agriculture through resource kits and National Ag Day events.
